TBR List: Books I’m Excited to Read in 2022

It seems like our ‘to be read’ list continues to grow and yet we never get to those books. We just keep piling on, ignoring our overflowing list by reading the next shiny thing on Instagram or TikTok.

Well, I’ve made a dedication to a few books that I swear I will read this year… because they come out this year! Check out this awesome list of books on my TBR that I’m excited to read in 2022.

House of Sky and Breath (Crescent City #2) - Sarah J Maas

Okay, I absolutely adored House of Earth and Blood for so many reasons. It was a book I almost dropped because the first little part was really hard for me to follow. There was so much worldbuilding that I got a bit overwhelmed. Boy, am I glad I pushed through it! HoEaB was possibly my favorite read of the year and I cannot express how excited I am to read HoSaB. Bryce and Hunt are my absolute favorites and I am excited for another CHUNK of a book. This is the first physical book I’ve ever preordered, so that should show you how excited I am.

(PS. I got it several days earlier than expected, after I wrote this post, and it was 100% worth it)

Through Dark Storms (Beneath Black Sails #4) - Clare Sager

For anyone who doesn’t know how much I love Sager, let me just gush. When you want a cast of characters that are all unique and have their own voice, you call up Sager. As a fellow indie author, I am in awe of her work every time I pick up a book. From the characters to the world to the absolute astonishing writing style, you will not be disappointed. Seriously, I strongly dislike pirate books but this series has changed my mind completely. In fact, she has ruined me off all other sea stories because it is so brilliant. This might actually be my most anticipated read of 2022 - I need more of Vice and Knigh!

A Crown of the Gods (Shadows and Crowns #4) - SM Gaither

Another brilliant indie author who has stolen my heart. This series started off my 101 book reading year in 2021 and it reminded me how much I love reading fantasy. Gaither’s cast of characters and beautiful writing style sparked my interest from the first page and after that, I was sold. I devoured this series. I loved it so much, I reread all of the books before the third came out, and then I reread the third because, duh! Book 4 promises so much more excitement and I cannot wait to pick it up.

The War of Two Queens (From Blood and Ash #4) - Jennifer L Armentrout

Another book that I have preordered to add to my ebook collection of this series. I was a little hesitant at first but these books are so easy to get sucked into. The worldbuilding is spectacular and it is so easy to root for these characters. The banter and action and flirting we get has no competition. It is just a blast from page one to the end. Give me all the strong female characters you can!

Zodiac Academy #8 - Caroline Peckham, Suzanne Valenti

The untitled final book in this series is set to come out at the end of the year but you better believe that even if it comes out on December 31, I will be reading it the entire day. A series that started out really rough for me, I have actually found to be my guilty pleasure. I am not embarrassed to have enjoyed reading this series in tandem with a friend so we can shout about it over text. If you want a light read full of sexy scenes, fated romance, and some pretty hilarious characters, I think you should dive into this one!
