The End of a (Planner) Era

Okay, that sounds very dramatic. But I feel a bit dramatic because we are prepping to move here in the next two weeks and in that time, I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff. Namely, planners.
Now, I’m both a notebook hoarder and a notebook user. I actually have more used notebooks in this house than I have unused ones, which is a feat, but I’ve also reached the point where I’ve been holding on to some notebooks that are completely filled when they’re not serving me any longer.
So, it’s time for an unhaul.
The first to go are the filled planners, because I’m really not getting any use from my old 2020 which I haven’t opened since… you guessed it: 2020.
These are my filled Passion Planners from the years. As you can see, they get pretty thick as I progress. I really love decorating the interior and having little themed spreads to go with the seasons (or with the season of life!). I’m quite proud of how much better I got at doing what I wanted with them. As you can see, the top few from the more recent years are definitely where I explored with stickers and scrapbook paper.
Not everything just got directly tossed. I made sure to flip through these pages and remove anything important or take note of things that I wanted to keep for my future books. Any spreads or details that I knew would be used in the future got ripped out and saved!
Of course, I didn’t take pictures of everything. I have a few that are on the last few pages, and while I’d love to throw them out, there are still parts of them I’m using.
What I plan to do with these is the same as what I did with the ones I tossed. I’ll pull the content from them that I’m still actively using and transcribe it into a new notebook. That way, I’m not worried about losing anything important. If I’m not sure, I’ll grab a photo and keep it until I have time to sit down and copy it out.
What I’m keeping:
Passion Planner*: I have a TON of undated planners, but I also have quite a few dated ones from 2023 that I got on sale. My intention was to block out the dates and use them, but then I got distracted by the shiny new planners and ended up never using these. I’m going to keep them and do the same, but I also might do some giveaways or donate.
Archer & Olive: Since I’m fairly new to the A&O train, I don’t have one to toss yet. These are the notebooks I am still working through, which means I’ve got enough pages left to not justify a toss yet. Plus, since most of that content is fresh (in the last year), it’s all pretty relevant for my current space in life. I have a feeling there will be a big unhaul coming in 2026 with some of these. Or maybe I’ll find a way to display them because they’re so pretty!
What I’m Still Using:
It’s very easy to give up in the middle of the year, but I’ve luckily had some practice keeping this habit. So here are things I’ve used consistently this year*:
Passion Planner Weekly - useful for my week at a glance, social media planning, and personal calendar
Passion Planner Daily - my daily tasks, use on weekdays mostly
A&O Traveler Notebook - morning journaling
A&O A5 - commonplace, art, and income/expenses for work
A&O Subscription Box - my treat, and I make an effort to use at least two items consistently out of the box immediately before working through the rest
Decluttering is my version of peace, and it feels really good to get rid of that stuff! But it’s not for everyone, and that’s okay if you hold onto yours longer.
