The Curse of Broken Shadows - Drinking Game

Okay, first off I am so excited to announce that the paperback doorstopper of The Curse of Broken Shadows IS NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON. Ebook readers, you’ve got until Tuesday (Oct 5) and I promise it is worth the wait. Besides, paperback copies will take Amazon a minute to ship so you’ll all be enjoying it at the same time!

I wanted to do something fun for this release so I came up with a read-along drinking game for anyone who is curious what to expect from some of our characters. Now, I totally understand that you are probably not going to sit down and read a 744 page book all at once, but it’s still a bit of fun and will bring some laughter… and also maybe some drunkenness? Wowza, after reading this game, you might want to stick to a lighter alcohol content and some shots of water. And, of course, please drink responsibly (and if you aren’t a drinker, like me, just pick a fun soda or snack and make your own game out of it).

You can play this however you want. Choose a character and their drink and make that your go to, stick to a drink you like (hey, shots of water or apple juice are acceptable too), or switch them up based on the character involved in the scenario.

First, let’s check out our characters and their associated drinks:

  • Brela - beer / Aviation cocktail (hey, it’s purple like her eyes)

  • Farrah - beer / Bellini (she’s sweet, bright, and bubbly)

  • Elias - beer / Dark ‘n’ Stormy (honestly, if it’s alcohol, Elias will drink it)

  • Cason - Fireball whiskey / Bourbon / anything that burns something fierce on the way down (can’t let anyone think our fire breather is soft)

  • Serill - wine (the good stuff, not that watered down red - because Serill is better than all of us and fancy AF. What did you expect from a prince?)

Let’s get started! Take a drink any time one of these things happens, or pick a few that you like and keep a look out:

  • *the throwing knife* is mentioned

  • Brela sticks out her tongue or flips an obscene gesture at someone

  • Serill flirts with Brela for Cason

  • Brela recounts a story about her time as an assassin that totally happened even though no one believes her

  • Cason counts something

  • Brela or Cason flirt with a sharp object

  • Someone flirts at an inappropriate time

  • Cason crosses his arms or glares

  • Brela schemes something (or it plays out chapters ahead and the others finally catch up)

  • (Character) wins a bet (there’s a lot of fun bets that happen in this book, so pick a character and see who wins in the end or drink every time someone makes a bet)

  • Serill surprises everyone by acting kingly

  • Brela says something that goes over Cason’s head

  • Elias is inappropriate

  • Brela is inappropriate

  • Farrah pretends to be the most civilized of the group

  • Brela drops some words of wisdom

According to the wise words of my friend Emmy - “I read the first rule. You’re already drunk by page 5”

Like I said… maybe take it easy on the drinking - switch between a drink and water if you must. Of course, this is all for fun, but it gives you a little insight into the characters and some of the trouble they will get into.

Fun fact - there’s a bonus TCOBS scene from a different character perspective that you can get using the link in the back of both the paperback and ebook copies that I won’t share anywhere else, so if you want some extra fun, order your copy! Includes flirty banter, Brela being inappropriate (take a drink), Serill flirting with Brela for Cason (another drink!), and a little surprise twist that you won’t get to read except from this perspective!

Grab your copy today - and join me for another LIVE release party (details to be announced on Instagram / Facebook later) where I play “Most Likely To” with the characters. If you stick around on the LIVE video, you will be entered to win a signed paperback copy of TCOBS!
