What to Look Forward to in Star Supernova

It’s been a while since we’ve visited the Blue Star series, but it’s time to get excited again because Star Supernova is releasing in just a month! You can grab that preorder now or read it early by joining me on Patreon.

Please be warned that if you haven’t read the first book in this series, there are a few mild spoilers ahead (just from that book).

After an explosive conclusion to Star Collapsed, we pick up where we left off. And don’t worry, there’s a bit of a refresher at the beginning in case it’s been a while since you’ve read SC. So, what can you expect from this newest installment?

Explosive powers

We got a hint of Kiya’s strength as the Blue Star through Star Collapsed, but get ready to see how that unfolds. Her gifts, manifested after a stellar collision with Ryder’s astronomical manipulation powers, are definitely something to keep an eye on. As she gets the hang of these new abilities (and, maybe loses control a bit), we’re going to see a big change coming.

Which might include more powers to be revealed and an exciting spin on the life cycle of a star.

Astronomical anomalies

Who remembers this (made up) book from Star Collapsed? Well, Supernova definitely has a lot more anomalies than the first one, which makes for some exciting twists. When creating this Star series spin off, my goal was to follow the life cycle of a star and create a fictional plot/world around it. So, what can we expect? It might be time to brush up on that astrophysics knowledge if you think you can predict some of the things that will happen!

New and old characters

Haven’t read the Soul series? No worries! You don’t need the original trilogy to understand what’s happening in this spin off, but if you have, you’ll see a few old characters make an appearance. The twist that comes at you in the first few chapters was my original ending for Collapsed but I decided to start this book off with a bang and it worked much better as a lead in chapter. So, buckle up because you’ll see exactly what I mean in just a month!

Not only do we see some old characters, but there are a few new ones as well. And with new characters comes new powers.

More of the twins

With the second book, we also see a few more perspectives written. Declan and Isobel get some time to shine in this installment, taking on the lead for a few chapters. While this is still very much Ryder’s and Kiya’s story, the twins have an important role to play and they take the reins to tell us all that goes on in their heads.

The mystery continues

Not only do we have questions about Kiya and her unfolding powers, but Ryder has a big role to play as well when it comes to finding out what our big bad guy is up to. Between figuring out his own powers and learning how to use them, he’s also dedicated to helping Kiya figure out some of the changes going on in her life as well as hunting down Harold and his Superiors. That mystery continues through Supernova and ends on another jaw dropping discovery.

The team is back together

They might have gotten separated and knocked around a bit at the end of Collapsed, but our band of friends is back together. The trio we love (Declan, Isobel, and Kiya) was already a force to be reckoned with, but they might have a couple new additions that add to the array of powers in their arsenal. It’s going to be superpower-packed and full of exciting twists.

Star Supernova is coming May 21 so be sure to catch up - either with the Star Series or the entire Blue Star collection.
